Godset had very strong home stats last year and this season form similar. Maybe they have struggled to create chances sometimes but the defence looks very stable, Aas and Madsen are perfect central defenders, next to them Vilsvik and Andersen show also decent performance. I must emphasize the young, very talented Mohammed Abu and Konradsen – he has came from Bodø/Glimt – both are defensive midfielders. So this section works well while the offensive players are not so good, Kamara is struggling after the good start, Storflor and Berget are out of form and scored only a single goal so far. But it is still enough, they won at home against Sogndal, Odd Grenland, Sarpsborg and Brann and played a draw with Tromsø, mostly deserved results. Aas picked up an injury but Madsen and Abu are back after they have missed last round, the hosts haven’t got other important missing.

Fredrikstad looks stable mid team with decent results so far but they will be without some important players. First of all regular right defender Gamboa and key attacker Borges (team captain) are at the national team of Costa Rica. Best central defender Horn is suspended due to yellow cards. Martinsen and Piiroja are good at central defence but I think Horn is the best on this post, he has came from Viking FK and plays by a convincing manner. So Borges is missing from the forward section and other key attacker Elyounoussi is doubtful and we can not find any attacking players in the squad, Hansen hasn’t got enough experience at this level, Valencia showed poor performance, Tveter might be a good solution.

Both teams played NM Cup meetings this midweek away from home, Godset beat Mjøndalen (2-1) and was clearly better while FFK beat Lørenskog (4-0) but it is a 2nd division team and their goalie received a red card after 12 minutes so the big difference is obvious. All in all Strømsgodset has got important advantages, they use artifical pitch at home while Fredrikstad plays on natural grass at home and they have to play two games under three days away from home and important players will skip this meeting. SIF should win this game, I think so.
